Rusty Ackman-Junior High Director
Rusty (Formerly known as "R.T.I." (Rusty The Intern) is now our awesome Junior High Director. He's halfway through his schooling at Southwestern Bible College on his way to becoming a Youth Pastor. Interesting thing about "Rusty", very few people know his actual first name, even fewer know his middle name...

Tiffany Thompson
Tiffany is the longest tenured person on our Junior High Staff. Her amazing heart and willingness to be there for the girls for everything, from sillyness to the heart to heart talks has her loved by all. Interesting thing about Tiffany is that she is a gifted fiddle player and travels to play in blue-grass festivals!

Kara Langlois
Kara is a Senior at Centennial High School and loves being a part of the Jr High Staff. She is a small group leader and one of the team leaders. She has grown up at Horizons and always has a smile on her face. She loves working with the girls in the Junior High group. An intersting thing about Kara, she knows the first 54 digits of the number pie....not really...but she is actually terrified of whales!

Christine "Ginger" Baumgardner
Ginger is in her 3rd year at Biola University in Los Angeles. She still manages to find a lot of time to hang out with and stay in touch with her Jr High girls on a regular basis though. She is currently praying about God possibly calling her to the mission field to work with children around the world. She also likes pumpkins.

Kalena Skvarek
Kalena, or "Kay-Kay", is a valued member of the Junior High team. She is a Junior at Deer Valley High School. Kalena has the distinction of being the only person since Troy's been a youth pastor to be a sophomore on the Junior High staff. She works with a small group and is one of our team leaders. Kay-Kay has been at Horizons for many years, come through the youth ministry, and will always be there when you need her!

Ben Kinsella
Ben is a Senior at Centennial High School and one of our 3 "Junior Interns" (along with Zach and Robert). He's a techie and helps a lot in the sound cage and set building. Ben is praying about becoming a youth pastor. Interesting thing about Ben...he's a walking tool box. Need a screwdriver, open-end box wrench, or a toothpick? Ask Ben.

Zach Sharp
Zach is a Senior at Cactus High School and one of our 3 "Junior Interns" (along with Ben and Robert). He's very outgoing and loves to hang out with his jh guys. Interesting thing about Zach...he bears a striking resemblence to Mr Tumnus, some say he's actaully him in disguise!

Jenn McClendon
Jenn started attending Horizons in 7th grade as a Junior Higher. She's now a Senior at Centennial High School and loves working with her JH girls' small group. Jenn is tiny, but mighty! Great at telling stories and loving life, Jenn is sure to put a smile on your face, and an ache in your side from laughing. She's a gifted singer and keyboard player too! Interesting thing about Jenn...she does an amazing Grinch impersonation!

Taryn Martinez
This is Taryn, aka..."T-MART". She's a very outgoing and fun person to be around! Taryn is on the Student Council and is a Junior at Centennial High School. Interesting thing about T-Mart...she drives an old-school Toyota 4-runner...they just don't make them like that anymore...

Erica Tucker
E-Tuck is simply one of the coolest people on the planet, and she loves Jesus! She's the student body president at Centennial High School and is an inspiration to anyone she meets. Her laugh is one of God's true gifts to humanity. If E-Tuck is your friend, your life is better! Interesting thing about Erica...her car is known simply as "Egg", not "The Egg", just "Egg". And funeral preparations are underway for Egg, as she's on her last few miles of life. Egg will be missed.

Robert Ramirez
Robert, a.k.a. Roberto or Rivas, is one of our 3 "Junior. Interns" (along with Zach and Ben). He's a Senior at Centennial High School, where he's also involved with Student Council and he's in the drumline. Robert has a gift with Music, able to sing and play numerous instruments. He's planning to go to Grand Canyon University to begin studying to be a Youth Pastor. Interesting fact about Rivas, he hates being called Rivas!

Colette Norton
Colette is our volunteer youth administrator, secretary, life-saver, doer of all the stuff Troy isn't good at. Words could never be enough to describe the importance of Colette's selfless and behind the scenes heroics that she does every week!

TROY NORLING-Our Youth Pastor
Troy "TN" Norling has been our youth pastor since Sept, 2004. He's been married to Liz for over 20 years after dating her for 4 years. They have one son, Caleb, who is 12 years old. One of TN's recent accomplishments is to have a "secret menu item" at Herrera's Mexican Food named after him. It's called "The TN Special" (a Carne Asada Burrito and a Cheese Quesadilla w/ Guacamole). Kind of like ordering something "animal style" at In-N-Out Burger.
